Eyebrow TintingToday, having fuller and natural looking brows is the new trend that everybody follows. But what if you are born with naturally sparse brows? Or you over plucked them back in high school, when thin, long and arched brows were all in? You do not have to live with the mistakes from the past or feel sorry for your naturally thin brows forever – with an eyebrow tinting procedure, you can have the brows you always wanted! Keep reading to learn more about this procedure and why it will become one of your favorites.

What is eyebrow tinting?

This is a procedure that you can get at a beauty salon. It will be best to have is done by a professional, as the results will always be better, instead of doing it yourself or with a friend. A tinting cream will be applied to your brows and will be left there for 5 to 15 minutes, according to the intensity of the color you desire. The tint only stains your eyebrow hair and not the skin below, so you do not have to be afraid of having two big black lines across your forehead. After it is removed, your brow hair will be a darker color, making your eyebrows stand out more. The tint comes in all shades and colors, so no matter what color your natural (or dyed) hair is, you can have the same color eyebrows.

How long does it last?

It lasts from a month to two or, in some cases, up to three months. The tint fades with time and does not outgrow, so you will not have to deal with two colored brows in one moment. You can get it redone whenever you decide the effect you want is gone.

What should you do before the procedure?

Before you get your eyebrows tinted, you should let them grow out without plugging or waxing them. This can be a hard task, especially if you are used to plugging them daily, but it will pay off at the end. Try to not touch them for at least 2 weeks to a month. When you go to your tinting appointment, make sure to explain to your technician what your desired effect is. She will know what to apply and how much to plug to create what you like.

It is important to mention, that the tint will stain only the hair and not your skin. So if you have some sparse areas or you have overplucked your brows, you will still have to retouch them with a brow pencil or a brow powder on a regular basis.
